BIO

After graduating summa cum laude from UMass Amherst, Danny began working in a public high school in New York City through the Teach for America program. Over five years, he taught more than 600 high school students in a variety of math subjects, including algebra, geometry, AP statistics, and AP calculus. After scoring a 770 on the GMAT (along with perfect essay and IR scores), Danny attended Columbia Business School and graduated in May 2019. He now works full-time at Korn Ferry, an executive search consultancy firm.

If Danny could be described in a single word, it would be “competitive.” Having viewed high school as a competition, Danny did not rest until he was named class valedictorian. His passion for #winning extends to all kinds of sports and games, especially football (go Pats!), volleyball, and 3D Connect 4. Danny competes recreationally in volleyball and softball leagues around the city and, wanting to stay close to the action, he works part-time as a softball umpire during the summer months.

When not teaching or competing, Danny loves to relax with his friends at the beach, eat junk food (especially chips), and watch science fiction movies. His all-time favorite TV show is Survivor—yes, it’s still running, and yes, he’s seen every episode. In fact, Danny has organized multiple full-length games of Survivor in which players (his students) participated in challenges, searched for “Hidden Immunity Idols,” and ultimately voted each other out in “Tribal Council.” Jeff Probst, if you’re reading this, please give him a call!

What students are saying

“I have only taken 2 CATs, one prior to starting the class and one about halfway through. My score jumped from 570 to 660. The class has given me the tools and structure I need to study and continue to improve my score.”

What students are saying

“Danny was good at involving everyone, being honest, sharing his POV, and getting through the lesson efficiently and effectively. He was very open to questions, both in class and not. You can tell that he has teaching experience and it definitely paid off.”

What students are saying

“Danny was fabulous! He is very engaging and made everyone in the class feel comfortable with speaking up and asking questions. He is also obviously extremely intelligent, and was very good at explaining concepts in multiple ways.”
