Q12

Does the author support the Supreme court or not?
I think s/he does, but the sentence "it is worth nothing that the power of the Supreme Court has been...important cases" confused me :|
I guess s/he uses this part for Q15 as well, but not sure...

Thank you

Hey Strawberry,

The second sentence here says "Many of the Court's decisions have been products of political compromise that looked more to the temper of the times than to enduring principles of law." Then, the first sentence of the second paragraph says "Despite the 'accommodating' nature of the judicial system, it is worth noting that the power of the Supreme Court has been exercised in a manner that has been beneficial..."

The rest of the passage goes on to describe good things the Court has done.

(A) is too strong, based on the first sentence.
(B) Correct!
(C) ignores the fact that the majority of the passage is given over to discussing positive things.
(D) is totally wrong. The author definitely isn't opposed.
(E) is also totally wrong, as the author isn't exasperated.

Hope that helps!
