Hello,
The answer to your question really depends on the rest of your profile. The admissions committee does not look at your GMAT score in isolation - they look at it alongside the rest of your profile. Top schools are looking for not only the best academic minds, but the strongest professional and community leaders. If the rest of your profile is very strong, then a lower GMAT score can be overlooked. But if there is nothing else in your profile to fall back on, a lower score can have a big impact.
So, I'd need to know a bit more to answer your question as it pertains to your particular profile. What type of work experience, community leadership and extracurricular activities are you active in?
Best,
Mili
