Advanced FDP material-fraction to decimal by long division

Hi folks,

I came across this problem in the advanced FDP material section.

Question: What is the length of the sequence of different digits in the decimal equivalent of 3/7?

Can I expect such problems on the actual GMAT since it requires doing long division?

To be clear: this is from the Drill Set at the end of Chapter 1 of All the Quant Companion.

I agree that the wording of this problem sounds a little un-GMAT-like to me. However, the concept of repeating decimals, the skill of turning fractions into decimals, and the challenge of staying organized are all things commonly tested on GMAT. For example, check out DS 282, PS 147 or PS 200 from OG 2020.
