All over the world, 80 percent of the people use a computer, 60 percent access the internet and 40 percent are having a computer at home.
A- 80 percent of the people use a computer, 60 percent access the internet and 40 percent are having
B- 80 percent of the people use computers, 60 percent of the people access the internet and 40 percent of the people are having
C- 80 percent of the people use computer, 60 percent access the internet and 40 percent have
D- 80 percent of the people use a computer, 60 percent of them access the internet and 40 percent have
E- 80 percent of the people use a computer, 60 percent access the internet and 40 percent have

OA: E
my answer was B
what is the problem with B

I have changed the ans-choice's color so as to let the first time viewer have unbiased attempt.

thanks

in opt B, are having is not parallel with use computers and access the internet, that is why B is not correct.

B is wrong because
All over the world, 80 percent of the people use a computer, 60 percent access the internet and 40 percent are having a computer at home.

use and access both are present simple tense while are having progressive -- means that 40 are still in the process of having (purchaing) hence not parallel

If 80% of the world use a computer but only 60% access the internet, then the difference of 20% contributes to the group who uses a computer but do not access the internet.
That means 20% have a computer but do not use it.

"are having" in B is wrong.

C and E, both sound right to me. Would prefer E over C because in the later part uses "a computer at home"
I Can. I Will.

unfortunately we can't give you any help on this question, because the question itself is flawed in a way that you won't see on the GMAT. please understand that using practice questions from dubious sources can actually hurt your performance, and be careful which problem sources you use..
