Alternate Transcript Question

by brian1981us Thu May 20, 2010 10:17 pm

My GPA is outside the 80% range of most of the schools I am targeting, so I decided to take a Macro class at my local community college, I received an A-. During undergrad, (Finance major) I took Statistics 2, and also received an A-. Will the two A- grades prove my GPA is not representative of my true abilities to the admissions committees?

-Thanks

Hi -

Building an alternative transcript is a good thing in terms of indicating to the admissions committee that your grades from college are not indicative of your best ability and that you can, indeed, handle the rigors of a mba curriculum. In addition, a strong GMAT score can help to offset weak grads. If there were any extenuating circumstances during your undergraduate years that impacted your grades, you may consider briefly discussing in the optional essay.

Best,
