Alternative Plans in Strengthen And Weaken Questions

by aashray.thatai Sun Jun 15, 2014 7:39 pm

Hi
In our MGMAT CR guide CH-4 , there is a takeaway for flaw questions which mentions that the answer choices which discuss alternative paths or plans should be eliminated, is that true for strengthen and weaken questions as well?
Please let me know
Thanks a ton

Context is essential. In some arguments, "alternative plans" are relevant; in others, they aren't.

E.g.,
We'll have to break the window to get into the house.
"”> If there are other ways to get into the house, that's clearly a relevant issue here.

If we break the window, we'll be able to get into the house.
"”> Here, we're only concerned with what will be possible if we break the window. So, other ways of entering the house are irrelevant.

Absent the context of a specific argument, it's impossible to say things like this.
