Alternative Transcript + GPA + Deadline

by derekjhcho Mon Dec 21, 2009 6:13 pm

I recently took a course at a local community college to contribute to an alternative transcript I'm building, in order to compensate for a less than stellar UG GPA.

My class just ended, and I already know I received an "A", but I've been told it won't show up on my transcript for another two weeks or so. I'm applying to Round 2, and that is cutting it way too close for me.

This class actually took a lot of time, and I don't want it to go to waste. How can I show this grade when it may not be displayed on my transcript? Should I include it as a grade when asked upon? How/where would I elaborate upon why it isn't on the transcript?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thank you for your inquiry.

I think your best bet would be to contact each of the schools you're applying to and ask how they would like you to handle this. But my guess is that there is a section on the application for self-reported transcript and you can include the grade there, along with a note in the "additional information" section explaining the timing. Then when the transcript comes out, you can send it to the schools.

Again, please check with the schools, but since the class has ended and you know the grade, it's just a timing issue.

Good luck,
