I have filtered the answer options till A and E . But I rejected E because craggiest, most treacherous is wrong .. it should be craggiest AND most treacherous.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks,

well... no, that's not wrong.

the use of a comma to separate two adjectives is quite common in written english.

Hi ron,

why could the adj "comfortable" modify the v-ing "scrambling". should we not use "comfortably" instead?

Is the following acceptable?

As comfortably scrambling up the craggiest, most treacherous mountain landscapes as perching on ready-made barnyard knolls, the goat is considerably more adaptable than its cousin, the sheep.

I have no idea what "v-ing" means, and unfortunately it looks like this piece is crucial to being able to answer your question. Specifically, identifying what part of speech "scrambling" is is central to determining how it relates (if at all) to "comfortable".

To address your example though, no you cannot use "comfortably" here, because "comfortable" and "scrambling" both modify "goat". You can have a comfortable goat but not a comfortably goat.

that adjective describes the goat. the stuff afterward just qualifies that adjective.

e.g., I'm as happy staying home as I am going out.
"happy" describes me; the rest of the words describe what makes me happy.
