Columbia Deadlines - help

What it the deal with Columbia's rolling deadline...the website says the Application deadline isn't until April 14 but I was once told that you actually have to apply before the Application review period actually begins (which is coming up - January 6) or else all the spots are filled up. I am trying to prioritize my application schedule but this is throwing a wrench in it.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated...essentially, is there really a big difference between submitting the application on January 15 versus January 4?

Hi, I agree that the deadlines are confusing...but yes, there is a big difference.

Think of the published deadline as the end date of that round. So their round one ended in October; their round 2 ends Jan. 6. So if you submit later than that, you'll be in Round 3 and there just aren't that many spots left in that round.

I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but it does at least provide clarity.
