-X = |-X|

does X=0 satisfies above condition
or 0 cannot be evaluated in this condition as 0 can neither be +ve nor -ve

You can place a negative sign in front of zero, so in this set-up, it's fine to use zero. If something were described as a negative number, though, then you couldn't use zero.
