Comparison Question

In sentence "we have three times as many pears as you", would it be more formal not to omit the helping verb after 'you' ? What is the rule of thumb when dealing w/ this kind of sentence structure?

also, DO NOT try to learn to WRITE comparison sentences. that's really hard -- even most native speakers of english can't do it competently -- and it's way, way, way beyond the scope of this exam.

remember-- there are multiple-choice options! you should approach comparison problems as "beauty contests" -- i.e., as RELATIVE judgments among the choices.

yes, it's called the 'general verbal folder', but the word 'general' is NOT an invitation for random, source-free questions.

...and this exam NEVER tests the first person (i/we/us) or the second person (you), so the items involving "you" are non-issues.
