comparison

eg1: i have less money than you have

eg2: i have less money than your money.

i know eg1 is correct. how about eg2?

anyone can help explain?

the words to the left of "less...than" are "i have". you need something on the right that can present an adequate comparison to "i have". "your money" does not do this..

i understand now.

at first i thought i could compare the two objects: my money vs your money. Now i understand actually "i don't have your money", so these two cannot compare. XD
