Competitive Advantage

by geenaojoseph Tue Jul 23, 2013 7:25 pm

A year advantage in a new computer product or process being introduced can give a company a significant edge on its competitors.
a. A year advantage in a new computer product or process being introduced
b. Introducing a new computer product or process by a year earlier
c. A year's advantage to introduce a new computer product or process
d. To introduce a new computer product or process by a year earlier
e. Being a year ahead in introducing a new computer product or process

Source: Brutal SCs

OA:D

I chose B because I felt that it is the act of "introducing a new computer or...." that can give a company a significant edge on its competitors.

Please let me know what I am missing here.

Thanks,
Geena

You're missing out by studying from questions that don't test issues found on the GMAT. I doubt that the expression "by a year earlier" would ever show up on the GMAT since Googling that phrase causes this question to show up most prominently, followed by a few random, ill-sounding news articles. Also, if you find a split in a real question that tests that difference, let us know and we'll learn from that question. But don't make rules based on non-OG questions.

I think the question is from GMATPREP old software. I do remember seeing this question on GMATPREP

i can guarantee you it's not.

i'm going to take the liberty of having this "Brutal SCs" document added to the banned source list, since just about everything i've ever seen from it is horribly flawed.

ignore this question (and this source). move on.
