Competitive enough? GMAT 660 GPA 3.5

by ryanahughes Mon Aug 09, 2010 12:04 pm

I've taken the GMAT 3 times (I know!) First:500, Second:560, Third:660. I'm done with the GMAT. I've recieved my undergraduate from USC w/ GPA 3.5. I have 3 yrs of great work experience in Investments/Finance. I would like to go to FEMBA UCLA but I'm not sure if my gmat score is competitive enough. Besides, my first two scores are horrible. My second choice is MBA.PM at USC. What do you think?

Hi ryanahughes,

Thanks for your note. Traditionally MBA programs only look at your highest GMAT score so you do not have to worry about any negative perception from taking the test three times.

While scores are certainly important, part-time programs may place more emphasis on your admissions story than their full-time counterparts at each school. A 660 is already within the median range for UCLA full-time, so if you tell a good story as to why the FEMBA program is a good choice, I think your application should be competitive.

Good luck!
