what is the source of this question?

if this is a GMATPREP SOFTWARE problem, please post a screen shot of the problem, with the correct answer boxed (press "show answer").
if this problem is official, there is NO WAY that (d) is the correct answer.

if this is NOT a GMATPREP problem, then please re-post it in the GENERAL VERBAL folder, and CITE THE SOURCE.

thank you.

by the way, (e) is the best of the options given for this problem, even though it uses the dreaded "being".

I encountered this question in an online thread and do not believe that it is an official GMAT question. However, I would still like to learn the difference between option (B) and (D). Furthermore, isn't (B) grammatically correct and superior to (E)? Perhaps a mod can move this to the unofficial questions forum? Thanks.

As Ron stated, this folder is only for questions you encountered with the GMAC software. For non-GMATPrep Verbal questions, please post in the General Verbal folder with the source. We cannot reply unless a source is cited. Thanks.
