Confirmation on "many"

by 750plus Sat Aug 27, 2016 7:04 am

Dear Instructors,

Please if you can clarify the below case. Thanks in advance.

What does "many" qualify as on a set of 100 test takers

For example:
Some means 1-100 test takers
Not All means 0-99 test takers

Similarly, what will "many" stand for?

if you are thinking about VERBAL questions with this much precision... you're thinking about them in entirely the wrong way. you will NEVER, EVER need to nit-pick the quantitative aspects of a verbal problem like this.

just remember—
THE VERBAL SECTION IS NOT THE QUANT SECTION.

in normal everyday life, people use "many" to mean, basically, "a significant number, but not most".
...so, not vanishingly few, but also not more than 50 percent. but, again, you will NEVER need to think with such precision on the verbal section.
