CR with Bold Parts

Hi,

I am having trouble with the CR questions that have the two bold parts and ask you to explain the roles of the two bold parts. My strategy thus far has been to identify the conclusion and then to identify how each bold part relates to that conclusion. However, I am getting stuck on how each bold part relates to the argument as a whole. And, I am also getting tripped up by words in the answer choices such as judgment, explain, circumstance, explain. These words are used to describe the roles of each bold part.

I realize that we did not learn this type in the course. Can you please help me develop a technique for solving these types of problems?

Actually, we do cover these in the course! You may want to watch that section of the recording for Session 9 to see it again.
