Hi Yamini,

I am not a grammar expert infact whatever I have learnt is for GMAT :) .....But I would like to contribute my 2 cents...

The sentence is grammaticaly correct but I think the sentence can re re phrased to the paper is from David's book or The paper belongs to david's notebook.

Or Is this page from David's book?

I don't if GMAT will test you on core grammar but ...on things such as clarity ..organization etc.

Please correct if I am wrong!!

It is very unusual to see two possessives in a row (though, yes, something could be written that way in rare circumstances). That's in the real world though - I've never seen it on the GMAT (not even in incorrect choices, I think).
