does admissions look at highest combined Q/V score?

by bek2103 Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:56 am

Hello, how are you? I recently scored a Q48/V33 (660). I'm definitely considering taking the test again to boost my verbal. My question is say I boost my verbal to 40 but my quantitative score drops. Would admissions consider my score Q48/V40 or would they consider my 'high score' the individual test that yielded the highest total score? Thank you very much!

I recommend that you review the GMAT policies of your target schools. While some schools accept your highest overall score, some schools (e.g. Tuck) will look at the highest verbal/quantitative scores from multiple tests (although they do not create a new total score for you).

Best of luck with your next exam!
