Encompassing almost three quarters

by Orhan SerkanÖ123 Sat May 02, 2015 1:47 pm

Encompassing almost three quarters of the planet's surface, the Earth is covered by five oceans that contain over 90% of the water supply and hosts the largest mammal in the biosphere, the blue whale.

A) Earth is covered by five oceans that contain over 90% of the water supply and hosts

B) Earth's five oceans contain over 90% of the water supply and host

C) Earth was covered by five oceans that contained over 90% of the water supply and hosted

D) five oceans of the Earth, which contain over 90% of the water supply and host

E) Earth is covered by five oceans that contain over 90% of the water supply and hosts

---what I struggled with the question---

The best choice seem to be B, but I would like to ask Can non-living things take "'s"?

also, you can easily answer your own question by flipping open the OG and perusing the SC items.

in just the first 2 page spreads of the SC chapter, your question is already answered three times: by #6, by #9, and by #17. (do your basic research, ladies and gentlemen!)
