Ending a sentence with "is"?

by yo4561 Sat Feb 05, 2022 2:49 pm

I remember being told that you cannot end a sentence with certain words such as "is". For instance, I was told a sentence in this nature is incorrect: "Hannah really likes how great the school is."

Is this rule correct? What are other examples of words (assuming that the sentence is not in the form of the question) that you cannot end a sentence with? Many thanks!

Who told you that you can't end a sentence with is? There is a huge number of examples on the Internet:
"I don't know who's crazier, you or your uncle Bob, but I think that your uncle Bob is" and many more. Just Google it.

The second poster is exactly right that you can end a sentence with "is" (or any verb for that matter).
