European Schools

by william.f.wilkins Wed Oct 13, 2010 2:37 pm

Hello,

I'm interested in applying to a European school or two. I've researched quite a few, but not sure I have a true grasp of where I would be a competitive applicant.

I graduated from Vanderbilt in 2006 with a 3.1 (2.4 the first two years and 3.55 the second two).

730 GMAT: Q49(86%) V40(89%

I have a diverse work experience: private wealth management company as an analyst and a utility company's corporate affairs group.

Any knowledge or advice on schools such as LBS, Cass, Judge, HEC, INSEAD, etc would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi William,

I am not overly familiar with many of the international programs, but academically it appears that you should be competitive. If your research indicates that your GPA could be a weakness, you could use the optional essay to point to the dramatic rise in your GPA during the latter part of your college year. Additionally the class data for all of these programs should be available on their site or any rankings site.

I do think you will want to specify in your essays why you are looking to go to Europe for an MBA, and how this fits into your goals. For example, do you plan to work in Europe upon graduation?

Hope this helps, and good luck!
