Event mgmt in college. founded technical grp to organize inter coll competitions.
placement coordinator for my batch and juniors... there was no placement cell in college..
joined IT company in 2007 as trainee.. helped village burnt down in orisa.. got local funding 65k rs for their help..
funding rural empowerment dev prg with NGO in bihar..
working on business plan in healthcare.. with a friend.. thats my dream to run it as an enterprise.. and extend it to african nations and developing countries.. showed protoype to govt of india and a pharam company..
like to make life simpler.. made address book for dad.. diabetes monitoring system for mom.. romantic web pages for matters of hear..

my preffered colleges. i think i have a strong profile... my GMAT didnt go that well.. but i have strong recommendations from clients and my comp.. what are my chances??????

Hello,

You've got a pretty interesting profile, but unfortunately, that GMAT is going to be an issue for top tier programs like Kellogg, Tuck and Booth.

It sounds like you're on an IT management track at work, which is good as far as the IT space goes (better than being a software engineer strictly). I think professionally, compared with other Indian IT applicants, you've got a slight edge given your team management experience.

You seem to be very actively involved in the community, which is great.

Your side project in the healthcare space could give you an edge over other applicants, but it really depends on what results you have to show on this project. Is the government funding the initiative or partnering with you on it? Do you have any proof points, (investment, employees, product, partners, revenue) that show that this is actually going somewhere? If so, this could be powerful.

I think you have a good chance at some of the programs on your list - especially the European and Asian programs. But the 640 GMAT, as you know, is low. Is there any way that you could retake the exam and get a 670+? I think that would greatly help your chances.
