financing European MBAs

LBS, Said, Judge, etc... are all ridiculously expensive, especially if you taken into account the cost of living. I noticed on the schools' websites that they offer many scholarships. How "easy" is it to get some sort of financial assistance? Is it even worth it to apply given that US programs are just as good or in many instances better, yet cheaper? i am attracted to LBS, but don't want to go through the hassel of doing an app if I can't even go there because of the cost.

If you're a strong candidate (i.e. GMAT in the mid 700s, stronger resume than most incoming students at these schools, etc.) then getting scholarships from these schools is a definite possibility (particularly at lower ranked schools like Said and Judge). However, don't expect a free ride. Yes, they may be expensive, but you can also get loans as well -- at least at LBS they have a loan program through HSBC, which grants loans to any incoming matriculating student that needs it.

I reived a letter from Oxford, stating that they will offer new incoming students financing through Barclays!

I wonder why, hmmmmm?
