For vs Because of

by yunxi_chen Wed Oct 09, 2013 9:38 pm

Hello, staff
I was doing my CAT exam, and I feel confused about the usage between "For" and "Because of". Since I cannot post my question online, please check CAT Exam 1 Questions 28 if you can. In the explanation, it only said the choice does not correct "because of", but why?
Is that because phrases are always followed by "because of", and sentences and phrases could be followed by "for"?
Could you please explain them to me? I really appreciate that!

Hi,

There are 2 possible meanings of "cannot" here, but neither is actually true.

* If you mean "I am unable to post the question" -- If it's in our software, you should be able to copy and paste it. If not, you can always just type it out.

* If you mean "I am not allowed to post the question" -- You are always allowed to post MGMAT questions on here. Just make sure to post it in the correct folder. (If it's a CAT question, post it in the CAT folder.)

please check CAT Exam 1 Questions 28 if you can.

The CAT software is adaptive, so everyone sees different questions in a different order.
In other words, "CAT Exam 1, question 28" could be any question from the entire CAT test bank.

You'll have to post the question itself.

When you do so --

* Please post in the correct folder. (If it's a CAT question, that's the MGMAT CAT folder.)

* Please read the forum rules (first post in every folder) before you post.

* Please post the entire question, with all five answer choices.

Thanks.
