Future perfect continuous doubt

by mathew.mithun Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:10 am

I have doubt in the sentence:

All the turkey...........(eat) by the time we arrive

the answer given is: all the turkey will have been eaten by the time we arrive.

My doubt is when using future perfect progressive tense in the above question, the tense should be: will have been eating and if I replace it, the context of the sentence will change.

Pls help me...

"will have been eating" is nonsense in this context of course. this is not a tense issue but rather a voice issue. this sentence needs to be in passive voice, because the turkey is not the one doing the eating. your switch turns it into active voice..
