GMAT 710 (Q - 48, 83%) (V - 40, 89%) Which top 20 colleges?

by nitinkashid84 Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:51 am

Hi,
I gave my GMAT exams on 18th. Got 710 (92 %) with 48 (83%) in Quant and 40 (89%) in Verbal.
I have a 4 yr engineering degree from India. My acads are pretty good all over.
I have 5 years of work experience in IT (2 yrs in India and 3 yrs in Singapore).

What are my chances of getting into top 20 colleges like INSEAD, NYU Stern, Chicago Booth, Kellogg and UCLA? Also, please recommend any other college in which i have a better chance.

Thanks,
Nitin Kashid

Hi Nitin and thank you for your inquiry. Congratulations on getting an excellent GMAT score.

To answer your question though, I would need to know much more than you provide. Acceptance to schools isn't as simple as what score you receive; the schools want to see all aspects of who you are. So I have more questions than answers - what is the nature of your work experience? Are you leading teams? driving results? demonstrating initiative? Has the scope of your work increased? What are you goals and how does your work lead you to achieving them? What do you do outside of work, and how do those activities help you demonstrate leadership, initiative, etc.

There still won't be a formula I can plug in to give you an answer, but giving me a bit more information to go on will help me better assess your profile.

Good luck,
