How are Manhattan CAT raw score calculated?

by ldubs Thu Jul 23, 2015 5:13 am

Hi folks,

First time poster here so please be gentle, and hope this is in the right place.

I've taken all of the Manhattan CAT exams by now, and for the past 3 tests have scored a 45 on verbal. However, the results have been pretty different so I'm confused about how this score is calculated.

CAT 6: score 45 - missed 1 question, #5, 600-700 difficulty
CAT 5: score 45 - missed 6 questions throughout, 700-800 difficulty
CAT 7: score 45 - missed 7 questions in the first half, 700-800 difficulty

I thought that really investing in verbal would allow me to bring my score above 45, but it appears not to be the case. Can someone clarify how these raw scores are calculated? More importantly, since a 45 is already 99%, how much impact does getting a 51 raw score on verbal vs. a 45 have on your actual scaled score?

Thanks!

Got an answer in another thread. Manhattan does not give scores above 45 for Verbal.
