How to increase efficiency of RS questions

Hello Friends,
I am new to this forum and need your help regarding reading comprehension. Even after a lot of practice, my efficiency is stuck at 50 %, almost equal to where I started. I have not been able to improve it for quite some time. My reading speed is slow and fail to understand the gist of the RC when i read fast.
Please suggest a suitable approach to follow that should minimise time and increase efficiency.
