If r and s are the roots of the equation x^2+bx+c=0 where b

Could you please explain the approach for this question? I understand x^2+bx+c=0 is a qua eq but I didn't get to the part you'd multiply out (x-r)(x-s) what should be the thinking process for this question?

Hint: when you see a quadratic, remember that to factorize it you need two numbers that multiply to make c and sum to make b.
