Improving from V27

by shoumik Fri Jul 20, 2012 2:01 am

I just took a GMAT Prep test and got a V27. I dont know how to improve from V27.

I got 3 RC questions wrong (long passage was perfect).
I got 7 SC wrong and 7 CR wrong.

so clearly SC and CR are my weakest areas atm. I've gone through MGMAT SC Guide but I cant seem to have my SC accuracy improved.

Looking for any advice, strategies and tips that can help me out here.

Thanks.

well, you don't mention what you did with the SC guide, but in general what you need to do is learn the grammar rules, learn how to recognize in which situation to apply each rule, and then apply the rules to get rid of wrong choices. you should NEVER look for a correct answer, but should instead work to find 4 choices with grammar errors, and you should NEVER eliminate an answer choice for grammar reasons unless you can point to a specific rule governing that situation that is being violated. practice this on OG questions, and once you can do this consistently for OG questions you should be ready to take another practice test..
