Increased vs Decreasing parallelism

New fall shows added to the television network’s upcoming weeknight schedule have increased overall viewership, critical acclaim, popularity among all age groups, and have decreased ratings on the network’s shows online

A) popularity among all age groups, and have decreased

B) popularity among all age groups, and decreased

C) and popularity among all age groups, while decreasing

D) increased popularity among all age groups, but decreased

E) and popularity among all age groups were increased, while decreasing


OA - C. Why parallelism in Increased and Decreasing not checked ?

"While" doesn't require parallelism.

By its very nature, "while ___ing" is not a parallel marker. It states that something does/did thing X while doing thing Y"”"”implying that action X is, in some sense, contained within action Y.
