Hey,
just found an interesting sentence and wonder what the function of the words in pink, i suppose, is.

In his breast-pocket he had a patch of scarlet, which i suppose was the paper cap serving as a handkerchief.

an very similar structure: that global warming, a phenomenon that most people agree is caused by human beings’ burning of fossil fuels

do the two chunks of pink words function the same?
