MGMAT CAT 2 - Explanation and Answer incorrect

If x and y are integers and xy does not equal 0, is xy < 0?

(1) y = x4 - x3

(2) x is to the right of y on the number line


The answer to this question as given in the explanation is C but it should be E, the explanation fails to consider the case when 0<x<1

Please clarify.

Please note the question mentions X and Y are integers. So u cannot take a value between 0 & 1. Hope this answers the question.

Don't spend any more time on the question as posted above. This question has been changed in our database, per the discussion in the link above, to the following:

If x and y are integers and xy does not equal 0, is xy < 0?
(1) y = x^4 - x^3
(2) x is to the right of 0 on the number line.

The correct answer is C.
