MGMAT IR - Table - Arson

by vikram4689 Fri Sep 14, 2012 9:45 pm

Hi,

I think there is typo in Q7 part2 of Table Analysis in MGMAT CAT IR.
Question asks
The number of arsons cleared in the "total structure" category that were "under 18," compared to the number of arsons cleared in the "single occupancy residential" category that were "under 18."

Answer is
For "total structure": 0.352 * 5,520 ≈ 1,943. For "single occupancy residential": 0.257 * 2,389 ≈ 614.

So answer should be "greater than 50%". Part 1 in Q7 uses same language and same process if followed. Please tell if i am missing something

P.S. I do not know how to post image here. i was asked for a link but i have a screenshot only.

i'm not sure i understand your reasoning. 614 is definitely less than 50% of 1943..

according to question, 1943 is compared to 614 and that is definitely >50%

Part 1 in Q7 uses same language and same process if followed.

please write out the text of the question you were asked so we can be sure we are talking about the same thing. having read the question text we have in our database, i am fairly sure you are misinterpreting the question..
