Need Math Help

by jdmbakid Tue Sep 29, 2009 4:54 pm

I recently went through and took a bunch of free practice tests.

I was really surprised to see how poorly I scored on the math section. I have always heard that Kaplan low-balls, but I was really surprised to see how I scored on the math section of your test. I have a math background and have scored very well. What would you recommend doing to improve my math score? Are there certain study techniques you can recommend? How do I tell where the source of my problem is?

With our tests, at least, you can run an Assessment Report on the data (it works more reliably with more than 1 test worth of data, but it might still by useful to you). Look for any content areas that have relatively low % right, or on which you take longer to answer. You can also parse the data by type (i.e. DS vs. PS). For example, if DS is worse than PS for you, it is likely that you are making at least some process or logic errors on DS, rather than just content errors.
