Hello,
NYU asks the following question on the application:
"Please list any other graduate schools to which you are applying, including other programs at NYU Stern or New York University"
Why do they ask? And does it matter what your answer? (I'm applying early to NYU and I'm not 100% sure what other schools I will apply to)

Hi Irina,
They usually ask this question to find out which programs they are competing with. So, I would say for NYU, you want to say you are applying to schools within that tier or slightly lower. However, you don't want to lie about this; if NYU is your safety, then choose the next closest programs and tell them about those. Or, if you really don't know yet, just list a couple that you are considering.
