In this sentence, there are two points to take note:

Verb Agreement and Condition Clause.

If ...present tense....., ( the second clause should be future tense or present tense).


parallel of verb: Exercise and Associate ( present tense ).

A, B: Incorrect : Associated
C: ....., They "Required" wrong tense for second clause
D: ...., They Have Required: again wrong tense.
E is correct. "....., they..... those ( calves)...: you can omit "do" for this parallel structure
