In the glossary under "past participles" (Manhattan Gmat guide 8 5th edition), it says that the past tense of "rise" is "risen". But according to Merriam-Webster's Learner's Dictionary, the past tense of "rise" is "rose". Are both forms correct?

If you're looking at past participles, then you're not looking at the past tense.

The former is not a verb. The latter is a verb.
