Please evaluate my profile

Hello all,

I just returned from GMAT. My score was a disappointing 660 (Q49, V31). I am in IT industry but not a coding guy. My profile synopsis as below:

8.5 years of experience in service industry; with 6 years of quality experience in Business Analysis, Business Process Management, Business Requirement Gathering and Solution Designing;

 Strong Requirement Gathering, due diligence and Business Analytic skills with key expertise in Process Design and Analysis, which includes gap analysis between As-Is and to be processes, Impact Analysis for implementing To-be processes, gap analysis of AS-IS processes with Industry standard frameworks.

 Expertise in eTOM and ITIL standards for telecom processes with functional knowledge of end to end business processes in Telecom domain. Knowledge of BPMN for Process Designing with hands on experience in Process Modelling using BPMS tools of Savvion, Intalio, Tibco, ActiveVOS.

All my assignments have been single/double person consulting engagements. I have not other major EC.

I was targeting IIMA, ISB, INSEAD and Kellogs(1 year), but my performance is not at par with my dreams. Kindly suggest which schools should I target now or should I give another go at GMAT (I gave it 5years ago and got the same score)

How are my chances for Manchester and Cambridge? Kindly suggest.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting, congrats on getting the GMAT done though I know it can be frustrating not to come out with the score you had hoped for. In general to have a better shot at admission you'd want to look at schools with average GMAT scores at or below what you scored (have a look at the US News & World Report rankings for example; generally schools with a 660 and below are ranked roughly #35 and below; schools like Texas A&M; U of Maryland; Boston College; Purdue; Penn State... etc. It really depends on what you are looking for in a program (including geographic region, class size, teaching philosophy, hiring profiles, etc). And you can always give it a shot at a couple of schools a bit above your score. As for the UK schools you mentioned, as GMAT would indicate, you would have a tougher time at Cambridge, but fairly good chances at Manchester.

In terms of re-taking, you could certainly try since you hadn't taken it for 5 years, and see what additional preparation you can put in between now and then, it would boost your chances at some of the higher-ranked programs. It may depend on how much preparation you've already been doing recently.

Let us know how else we can help!
