Plural or singular?

by t.dong0603 Sun Nov 18, 2012 10:46 am

Instructors, please can you confirm:

One out of every 8 workers is plural, it should follow something like were women.

Am I correct?

No. 'One out of every 8 workers' is singular. Here, subject is ONE, which is singular. So, verb must be singular.
