Hi,

In GMAT Verbal review 2nd Edition, pg. 248, qstn 24- correct answer is choice E. Could you explain, why choice E? My understanding is that the construction- Partly to acquire certain means that breeders want to acquire the characteristic in steer while meaning should be that the steers will acquire characteristic after breeding.

Also,explanation mentions that choice D is incorrect because of awkwardness..could you please explain this as well?
