Prepositions (of) FOV guide

by aliag916 Fri Jun 21, 2013 12:17 am

Graduates of Dartmouth often report years later that they loved it. This sentence is correct as per Manhattan FOV.

"it" now correctly refers to Dartmouth? But how? Isn't "of Dartmouth" a prepositional phrase? Can pronouns refer to nouns in prepositional phrases?

Thanks
