Profile Eval Please! 650 (Q:39, V:40)

by eaton.justin Fri Aug 27, 2010 11:16 am

I have taken the GMAT twice same score both times 650 (Q:39, V:40, AWA:6.0)

I am done with the exam as I put in a significant amount of time already and want to apply first round in the coming weeks.

I have a strong quantitative background with the exception of my GMAT discrepancy.

I have A- average in heavy finance classes (and an A- overall average) at a top 5 undergraduate BBA program as well as a 3+ years at a large management consulting practice.

My target school is Ross and also applying to UNC, Notre Dame, Indiana University and Wisconsin.

I know I am at the bottom of the 80% range for Ross, but do I have a chance with my background? Are my other schools varied enough that I should be able to get into at least one program or should I add in a different school?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Justin,

No single factor is likely to disqualify you from Ross, and I mentioned how to address your quant score in your other post. If Ross is your top-choice then I recommend getting to know the school and its students/alumni as well as you can. This will help you write strong essays and demonstrate enthusiasm, which can help you balance out your GMAT weakness as well.

On an academic basis I think you should be competitive at the other schools you list.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
