Hello,

I took GMAT 2 weeks ago and scored a sad 4.5/670 (47Q 36V - 78% percentile each). I intend to do a full time MBA from one of the following schools
INSEAD
LBS
IMD
HEC

Now, considering that my co-curriculars are average and I have been involved in a couple of entrepreneurial adventures does it give me a fighting chance or would be in vain to apply with current score.

I am 30 and my education has been in India though I am an Australian Citizen now. I am into research and development for one of the top electronics manufacturer. Do you think I should give it another go? My first attempt at GMAT got me a 570/6.0.

Cheers,
Shiven

Hello Shiven,

Thank you for your question. If you think that you can increase your score by approximately 20 points or so, I think that you should try to retake the test. Increasing your score to 690 or 700 will put you in a much more competitive position than your current 670, especially since you’ve said that some other aspects of your candidacy are average. Certainly your entrepreneurial activities will help distinguish you as a candidate, that will help, but if you want to put yourself in the best possible position, I’d consider retaking the test.

Sincerely,

Akiba Smith-Francis
