Profile Evaluation: IIT Bombay, GMAT 700, IB & Consulting Ex

Hello,
I want to get evaluated, profile as follows
GMAT : 700 ( v-33, q-51) after multiple attempts basically 4 in total.
IIT Bombay 2008 passout
Interniship in Australia, Short time work experience in HongKong, Singapore
PPO from Arcelor Mittal, Spain
First job in March 2009, due to offer cancellation at
BASES, A C Nielsen, Mumbai in a Market Mix Analytics Consulting.
A promotion in 1 year. Total 2 years.
Currently in Nomura in Global Markets. Again a promotion in 1 year.
Personal trading experience in Stock Market with 2.2 million portfolio and 5 years trading knowledge ( may be termed extra curricular). Startup initiative but was failed . Led community IIT Bombay NGO team for 1 year. Led deaprtment Intern team. Currently assisting on a family business set up in Dubai as a side work along with job at Nomura.

I am keen to apply at LBS, INSEAD but not have much knowledge about US Bschools. Kindly guide. and give a feedback
mainly about LBS and INSEAD

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your profile. It sounds like you have some strong experiences, quantitatively speaking and in terms of international exposure, and the fact that you've actually worked in several countries makes your resume stronger than the average client applying with your background. Your 700 GMAT is fairly average for applicants from India with similar backgrounds. I wasn't sure if you were saying you had 2 years of total work experience, or just for the one job? If only 2 years total, that is a drawback especially for LBS and INSEAD, and you may want to consider getting more experience first and then applying. Otherwise, the biggest question will be how will you stand out from the crowd of applicants, and what are your goals and reasons for the MBA. You would have a fighting chance at both programs, but a lot rides on what I just mentioned. Good luck to you and let us know how we can help!
