Hello,
I would appreciate it if you could give me some advice on my profile and the schools I should target at:
I am an Indian female - just turned 25.
Under-graduate education : 2002 - 05 - Majored in maths and economics. Total percentage 58.86 (doesn't look too great but marks were not rewarded liberally. 67% was the highest score received by the univ topper.
Graduate education: 2005 - 07 - Directly went on to do an MBA from India; majored in Human Resources. Total CGPA - 4.18 out of 5 (Top 5% of batch).
Work Exp: May 2007 - Dec '08 - Worked as an HR assistant Manager in the BPO industry. Left in Dec as was getting married and relocating to USA with my husband. Was rewarded with one bronze and 2 silver certificated while I was there.
Jan 09: Moved to USA and applied for a work permit.
May 09: Received my work permit but no work!
In the meantime took my GMAT. Scored 720. 94 percentile - V/M : 87 percentile in both. AWA : 5.5
Have started working as a volunteer for an old age day care home since October 09.
Extra-curricular activities:
Got a few articles published in newpapers
Was part of Alumni team in MBA college for 2 years
Was president of my course in UG college for 1 year
Participated in numerous contests and social service opportunities through-out school and UG college.
I want to get a second MBA to broaden my horizons and get a global exposure. I want to get into a consulting role and thus need solid grounding in all functions, and not just HR.
Schools targeted: Michigan Ross, Chicago Booth, Duke and Cornell.
Schools considering: HAAS, Columbia, Kellogg, Emory, Harvard...
Request you to kindly advice on my list of schools as well as my profile. Are there any extra things that I can do to make it more "acceptance call attractive"... ?
Thanks,
