Profile evaluation

by harsh170488 Wed Oct 24, 2012 10:27 am

Hi,

i will be taking the GMAT in a couple of days . I want some help in deciding which schools or programs would suite my profile. I am scoring in the range of 670-690 in my mock tests and probably feel it would be similar on the test day.

My profile:
age:24
gender:male
10th:92%
12th:71%
Undergrad: B.E in computer science with an aggregate of 72%

Work experience: 2 years in IBM as a software engineer working on a telecom product .
-though was not a permanent team lead , i sometimes acted as one in the absence of my manager . The team size was 5
-mentored new comers into the project through training plans and sessions

Current: I have just recently joined my brother who started his own small IT company around 3 years back. Given the IT background i wish to continue with my brother even after the MBA. I am looking for courses which would help me further in growing the company and also introduce new things.

I did some initial search and found a program - Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation in Kelley school of business. I think the program structure and content was very similar to what i actually want from my MBA. Which other programs would you suggest on similar grounds ? Given my low experience and avg undergrad gpa which other schools should be within reach according to my profile ? also given the score i am getting in my mocks , i want to be realistic and don't want to aim too high .

Hello,

Have you considered part time programs? I think UC Berkeley would be a great program given your interests, but you may not be competitive as a full time candidate. You could look at Babson as an option - great entrepreneurship program. Kelley is a good choice. Perhaps take a look at UCLA, too.

Good luck!
