Hi Adarsh,

Thanks for your query. I think the biggest question here in applying for either a Masters in Finance or for INSEAD MBA is: why do you need another masters degree? You already have an MBA in finance from a good school in India, and you are already working in the finance field.

In addition to this, your low GPA and lack of extracurricular activities will present a challenge in getting into a top program. Your professional experience sounds very strong and sounds like your GMAT score will be decent, but I am not sure that will be enough to combat the fact that you already have an MBA in finance, have a finance career, and have low GPA and no ECs.

My main point of feedback in your case would be to make sure that you have a very good reason for wanting another Masters degree. I am less familiar with the requirements for a Masters in Finance - so some of my feedback may not apply for that program. But, for the MBA, you'd need an incredibly compelling reason for why an MBA given your background and experience and future goals.

Best of luck,
Mili

Thank you Ma'am,
Actually I am interested in MiF at LBS and as per the information given on the LBS website they admit only students who have minimum 2 yrs exp in finance. Average work exp for the previous batch was 6yrs. I wanted to pursue this program as I am looking for international exposure and I want to move in PE funds wherein skills acquired in the project financing are directly utilized.

Adarsh

Hi Adarsh,

As I said, I am not as familiar with the admissions requirements for MiF programs. Sounds like you've done your research on that front, though. Good luck!

Best,
Mili
